WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY
Lisa Haynes' Testimonial

Dear Elsie, Jeri, Gail & Kathy,

I first met you all in December when Dr. Gilmore found a lump on my breast during a routine checkup, and rushed me over to Housatonic Valley Radiology for my first mammogram and ultrasound.

Kathy took such great care of my parents, not letting on to anything, as per my request. Jeri was so caring and gentle, trying to ease my anxiousness, as was Gail when I had to go back in for yet another mammogram, per Dr. Ehrlich’s request.

Elsie was also very calming, even knowing the outlook seemed rather inevitable. Seeing Elsie again the following week for an ultrasound on my other breast was a bit more nerve-racking for me. Elsie knew how scared I was feeling, as she gave me a huge hug and a warm smile.

If only you ladies knew how much your kindness meant to me, a total stranger. What would be the scariest time in my life somehow was softened by your gentleness. You’re beautiful women with hearts of gold—I need you to know that, from the bottom of my heart.

I’m scheduled for surgery with Dr. Margules in February. Wonderful Dr. Margules will be performing a double mastectomy, while Dr. Goldman will do complete reconstructive survey on me. Fake breasts was never anything I desired, but if it means saving my life, by all means!

Inevitably, chemotherapy comes with this package deal, but Dr. Abrams assures me the four months of treatment will be tolerable, as he thinks I’ve got great spirit. My radiation oncologist, Dr. Taylor, says “No offense, but he hopes our paths won’t have to cross in the future!”

With such wonderful medical attention from all of you, and with all the loving support I receive from my family and friends, how could I not be strong? How could I not get through this? It is people like you who really do make a difference. Thank you again for being so special.

Bunches of hugs and laughter to you,

Lisa Haynes

P.S. – Please extend my thanks to Christina for assisting me with my films every time! Thank you!
