HVRA is “Making Strides” Against Breast Cancer

Danbury, CT – November 2, 2005 – Eleven employees from Housatonic Valley Radiological Associates (HVRA) participated for the fourth consecutive year in the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk in Westport, Connecticut on October 16, 2005.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a non-competitive walk held in numerous locations around the country during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month each October.

Participants in the walk raise pledges or donations for the American Cancer Society to raise awareness and fight the disease. In 2004, more than 400,000 walkers across the country raised over $32 million. This year, approximately 5,500 walkers and volunteers helped to raise $460,000 in Westport alone.

Eleven HVRA employees participated in the “Making Strides” walk. From left to right: Serena Allie, Wendy Michalek, Joann Pascone, Starr Unwin, Laraine Rossetti, Ann Delewski, Cynthia Williams, Karen Casso, Mary Poris, Barbara Steers, and Gail Boms.

Laraine Rossetti, Mary Poris, and Wendy Michalek (from left to right) are not only HVRA employees; they are also breast cancer survivors.
